Asymmetrical dripping
Dripping from a faucet is studied, where by cutting diagonally the tip breaks the cylindrical symmetry. They measured long dripping time series recorded with a laser-beam apparatus and continuous change in drop position using a high-speed camera.

Hydrodynamical models for the chaotic dripping faucet
They give a hydrodynamical explanation for the chaotic behaviour of a dripping faucet using the results of the stability analysis of a static pendant drop and a proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) of the complete dynamics. This allows them to construct a hierarchy of reduced-order models including maps and ordinary differential equations which are able to qualitatively explain prior experiments and numerical simulations of the governing partial differential equations and provide an explanation for the complexity in dripping. They also provide a new mechanical analogue for the dripping faucet and a simple rationale for the transition from dripping to jetting modes in the flow from a faucet.

Return Map for the Chaotic Dripping Faucet
They propose a simple model for the chaotic dripping of a faucet in terms of a return map constructed by analyzing the stability of a pendant drop. They show that the predictions of the return map are qualitatively consistent with the experimental results.

Simulation of a Dripping Faucet
A dripping faucet system is simulated. They numerically show that a hanging drop generally has many equilibrium shapes but only one among them is stable. By taking a stable equilibrium shape as an initial state, a simulation of dynamics is done, for which they present a new algorithm based on Lagrangian description. The shape of a drop falling from a faucet obtained by the present algorithm agrees quite well with experimental observations.

The effects of surface tension and temperature on the nonlinear dynamics of the dripping faucet
The effects of surface tension and temperature on the nonlinear dynamics of the dripping faucet were investigated, through the introduction of high-resolution timing, temperature and continuously variable flow rate controls, and the addition of surfactant of the water.
